No matter how large I built the deck, I knew this would happen...... |
Dewdrops
Brief lives in bright sun
Each containing all
Brief lives in bright sun
Each containing all
~~~
Sitting in darkness
A flash of lightning
Your face
A flash of lightning
Your face
~~~
Staggering along
I wonder why
The ox is so heavy
I wonder why
The ox is so heavy
~~~
Eyes unseeing
Skin like wax
Outside, the wind
Skin like wax
Outside, the wind
~~~
Ignoring the full moon
I search for a pool
To gaze at its reflection
I search for a pool
To gaze at its reflection
~~~
Shining
From a thousand pools
The moon
From a thousand pools
The moon
~~~
After the rain
A walk on wet pavement
Helping stranded worms
A walk on wet pavement
Helping stranded worms
~~~
Right hand struggles
Left hand without thought
Jumps to assist
Left hand without thought
Jumps to assist
~~~
Forgetting to remember
I while away the hours
Inspecting shadows
I while away the hours
Inspecting shadows
~~~
Going away
To be here
Somewhere else
To be here
Somewhere else
~~~
Seagull
Comical walking
Soaring majestic
Comical walking
Soaring majestic
~~~
Lazy water
And my old habits
Take the easy way
And my old habits
Take the easy way
~~~
Everything
A doorway
To everywhere
A doorway
To everywhere
~~~
Dog breath
In my face
It must be morning
In my face
It must be morning
The picture and the poetry are both great. My favorite poem was the one about dewdrops because it really highlights the impermanence of all life. _/\_ Lola @ Buddhatropolis
ReplyDeleteWhat delightful poems. Loving the dog breath poem, right in our face! and those pots of flowers, really in this weather?
ReplyDeleteThanks Lola, thinking about dewdrops actually made me feel sad. Guess I was projecting.
ReplyDeleteCarole - Thank you. Yeah, nothing like waking up to a goofy dog starting at you... The flowers are on our deck at SSI. Almost all of them are rescue plants from a garbage dump behind a nursery.
